IRINA'S BOOK ABOUT "PERESTROYKA"
Irina's book ARE THЕRE REALLY PEARS LIKE THAT? published in April 2001, a collection of 61 short stories written in Russian. The book was nominated for Apollon Grigoriev Literary Prise, 2001.
It is a light-hearted attempt to present an interesting history of our country in ironic, funny and sometimes sad stories.
"Her prose might seem to chatter, smiling disarmingly, about life of townswomen, ordinary unhappy, obliged to no-one, except perhaps to their own children. IRINA'S ENGLISH BOOK "PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRICITY" AND OTHER STORIES
Working as a matchmaker since 1996 and later Irina had seen a lot related to the international dating phenomenon, particularly as it was viewed through the eyes of Russian Women. Irina has written dozens of stories on these topics, many of which have been compiled into a book "PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRICITY".
Many women, driven by a need for change in their lives, contact a marriage agency. These are their stories -- ironic, woeful, romantic, and often very funny -- as varied and as wonderful as the women themselves.
The author is a Russian, but she has written these stories in a charming idiosyncratic English.
